| Bio |
Laurie Autio started weaving in 1986, and received her master weaver certificate from Hill Institute in 2000. She relishes design and conceptual challenges, incorporating ideas from mathematics, music, geology, and Japanese textiles into weaving and teaching. Linen, silk, and laces dominate much of her weaving, though most end up cut into little pieces for teaching and sample exchanges. She is happy to rediscover the wheel if she learns something in the process. Laurie is Dean of the Weavers Guild of Boston and past President of Complex Weavers. She has taught at Convergence, Complex Weavers Seminar, and many guilds and enjoys writing for Complex Weavers Journal.
