Weavers, Knitters, Spinners and Feltmakers! This workshop will introduce you to the basics of using MX Reactive Dyes on cotton, linen, rayon and plant fibers, as well as WashFast Acid Dyes on wool, silk, nylon and other animal fibers. With each of these dyes, you will learn color mixing by dyeing a 12 step color wheel using both cool and warm primaries. You will also explore direct application (hand-painting) on animal and plant fibers, enabling you -painted fibers. The workshop will conclude by using your color theory knowledge to create your own designer yarns and hand painted fibers. The workshop will conclude by using your color theory knowledge to explore the world of over-dyeing, through lecture and hands-on experience. |
